As an operator of a Family Health Team, OPiH deals extensively with the Primary Care Branch of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care of Ontario. We submit regular quarterly reports in addition to an annual report, budget submission and annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) in accordance with the Excellent Care for All Act (ECFAA). As an operator of a Family Health Organization (FHO), and former Family Health Group (FHG) prior to transitioning to FHO, OPiH is very familiar with MOH procedures, group governance and maximizing value from the model for patients and providers alike. OPiH maintains excellent ongoing relationships with our primary MOH Consultants for FHT and FHO as well as working with other key individuals in the Ministry and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) when needed. We also consult regularly with the various health care regulatory colleges to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
