- How to AccessIf you have never accessed our services before, please register online prior to requesting an appointment or presenting in-person at the clinic: Register HERE New protocol: until further notice, patients are not to present at the campus clinic without an appointment. Please call our clinic at 613-564-3950 to schedule a telephone appointment with one of our health care providers. If after the consultation, the provider determines that you need to be seen in person we’ll schedule another appointment for you at the campus clinic. The Campus Clinic is located at 100 Marie Curie Private (2nd floor), at the corner of King Edward Avenue. Centrally located on the University of Ottawa campus, we are especially convenient for individuals who study, work or live downtown as we provide easy access to healthcare in a clean, modern and friendly environment. The Campus Clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and weekends from 9am to 12pm.
Please note that the number of available appointments at the Campus Clinic are limited. If we are unable to offer you an appointment, patients can access care at the following online clinics offering medical services virtually:
- What to ExpectPatients can see a nurse or doctor for a non urgent issue. Patients can get advice, assessment and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries including infection and rashes, emergency contraception, stomach upsets, cuts and bruises, and skin complaints. Patients cannot schedule 3rd party physicals, Pap exams, PHVs (formerly "annual physicals") or well child appointments. There may be fees associated with your campus clinic visit (i.e. for uninsured services). Quebec patients are required to pay a $35 fee at each visit. NARCOTICS AND OTHER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WILL NOT BE RENEWED THROUGH THE CAMPUS CLINIC. These medications should be renewed by your family physician or their designate.
- How to PrepareVirtual (telephone or video) appointments:
- Blocked caller. BWFHT health care providers and staff, who may be working remotely, are calling from a personal device and for privacy reasons are blocking their caller ID. If you have configured your telephone options to block private or anonymous calls, please disable in order to receive the call.
- Be prepared to receive a phone call from your provider at the scheduled time and allow 30-60 min for possible delays.
- For privacy and security information on virtual care, go to our Policies page.
- If, after the virtual consultation, the healthcare provider determines that you need to be seen in person, an appointment will be scheduled accordingly.
- Have your current list of your medications ready.
- Virtual appointments are subject to the RAMQ $35 fee at each visit and will be charged at time of booking (see our fees tab).
- On the day of you appointment, all patients (including accompanying parent or caregiver) must take their temperature and complete the Ontario COVID-19 screening tool: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening 1 hour prior their in-person appointment. If after completing the self-assessment tool, you’ve been instructed to stay home and self-isolate, contact the clinic for further instructions.
- On site screening. Patients and visitors will be actively screened (per Public Health screening guidelines) to keep our patients, staff and healthcare professionals safe. To expedite the process, we ask that patients show the results (located on the last page of the Ontario COVID-19 screening tool) of their self-assessment to the clinic’s designated personnel. If you haven’t completed the self-assessment, you will be required to complete the self-assessment tool on site before entering the clinic. However, it is strongly recommended that all patients (including accompanying parents or caregivers) complete the tool prior to arriving on-site as this will allow for a quicker entrance into the clinic.
- Wear a mask or other face-covering to your in-person visit. If you forget to bring your own mask or face-covering you can purchase a reusable mask on arrival at reception. (see our Fees page)
- Come to your appointment alone. If required, you may be accompanied by one caregiver or one parent where the patient is a minor.
- Have your current list of your medications ready.
- Cleanse your hands on arrival and after touching common surfaces or using the washroom.
- Follow signs and direction from our staff regarding room capacity and physical distancing.
